Job Description
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)/Behavior Tech at Life Connections provides behavioral intervention services to individuals with autism and other related conditions and support to their families. Behavior Technicians are responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst®.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- College degree in a social work, psychology or related field (strongly preferred)
- Have RBT certification through Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. (on-site training can be offered)
Job Responsibilities
- Full-time Behavior Technicians are scheduled for 32-40 hours per week, with 28+ average billable hours per week.
- Collect accurate, valid and reliable data and record data based on client behavior.
- Assist BCBAs and BCaBAs in the preparation of client instructional materials.
- Assist BCBAs and BCaBAs with behavior reduction assessments and skills acquisition.
- Carry out Behavior Intervention Plans, and Skill Acquisition Plans that are determined by the supervising BCBA.
Technician Expectations
- Arrive on time to all scheduled appointments.
- Must be committed to ongoing training and development, organizational policies and procedures,weekly team meetings, and client confidentiality.
- Ability to raise up to 50 pounds.
- Communicate with all members of the team, with the goal of improving services and maintaining procedural integrity.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude and demeanor.
